some dogs
wag their tails
over squeaky toys
and treats

some dogs
wag their tails
at the presence
or the name
of their master
or another
dog
wagging its tail

while some dogs
only
wag their tails
at the calling
of their own
names

and some dogs
would rather
spend a lifetime
sniffing their own ass
or having
their own ass sniffed
than ever
sniffing the ass
of any other

those dogs
never understanding
that sniffing ass
is just another part
of being
any other dog
and sniffing ass
other than your own
is the unavoidable cost
of living
a dog's life
