adorns himself
in flags
and guns
and freedom
the causes
of his forefathers' bloodshed
making him
feel big

another small man
a petty
whining weasel
tugging at the chains
of big dogs
that would otherwise
tear him apart
seeking 
their groveling
apologies
for deviance
from his
puritanical
social
causes

each
small man
dedicated
to some moral crusade
of country or culture
of bloodshed or injustice
with their unique
symbols and weapons
of sharp objects and cheap rhetoric
when he's too afraid
stupid
lazy
or weak
for any other ways
of making himself
big
