i've been looking for some modern day geniuses to give me some guidance i've been looking at the recent geniuses but so many seem to fade into nothing or transform into darlings dangling like the soft star flower butterfly and bear from the mobile over pop culture's crib who gives a shit about anything bob dylan says anymore? who gave a shit about anything alan ginsberg said after he howled? who gave a shit about gore vidal in the last decades before he died? who gives a shit about ken kesey after the cuckoo's nest? who gives a shit except for the celebrity about hunter s. thompson after he left vegas or william boroughs except for the celebrity after he had his lunch? who gives a shit about vincent gallo after buffalo 66? whatever they had where'd it all go? who gives a shit about the long toothed songwriters with their penetrations into our hearts and souls? who gives a shit after a crushing divorce stifles any new songs or the booze that monotones those emotions a weariness for feeling the world in its fullness replaced with tarot cards astrological charts veganism animal rights real estate speculation authoritarianism or buddhism or islam? how to have faith in anything henry miller wrote when he was so gullible to the bullshit of so many new age charlatans? who gives a shit about jordan peterson knowing his rules no matter the number will never be enough for saving our lives but there'll always be more rules of even dozens for selling more books? who gives a fuck about the novelties of mondrien oldenburg beuys after the fashions of their times fade? maybe it's why it's best to die before running empty on creative or cultural steam or both these geniuses turned playthings of the culture pawed at toyed with until a wheel or a leg falls off then relegated to the bottom of the toybox or the trashcan i've been searching for a modern day genius to give me some guidance so i googled "modern day geniuses" and at the top of the alphabetical list of living geniuses was the artist bansky i'd heard the name but knew nothing about him so i had to go deeper into the algorithm for enlightenment i realize now not knowing much at all about modern day geniuses such as bansky makes it absurd the height of hubris that i'd be tossing out names like dylan h. miller ginsberg and the rest so i've decided to humbly bow out of thinking about shit i obviously know nothing about i'm bowing the fuck out cause in addition to bansky on the list of geniuses was oprah winfrey conan o'brien a rapper a fashion journalist wayne gretsky jackie chan and many more geniuses i know zero or way too little about i'm humbly bowing out being obviously too fucking dumb to recognize genius
