the system fails
with viral pandemics
and financial epidemics
cascading
disharmony and discord
uncertainty
and skepticism
and fear
turned to 
paranoid blame
and conflict
instead of 
temperate solutions
to monumental
problems

the system
fails us
with the smoke
of its false prophets
and the fire
of its false prophecies
arsing
from all the real
smoke
and flames

the system
fails us
but serves itself
divinely
by producing
pandemics
and epidemics
smoke and flames
and
misled
misguided fools
focused on one another
as the problem
instead of the system
that produces 
so many
pandemics
epidemics
disharmony and discord
and
so many
misled
misguided
fools
