compared to you 
or me
there's billions
of things
far more compelling
than you or me
that could otherwise
be
between us

so how about
between you and me
we place
a few 
of those things
far more deserving
of attention
than us
and allow ourselves
to fill in the gaps
instead of our 
monochrome ideas
toiling memories
and cotton candy beliefs
filling
the entire
the void?
