To My Lover
to my lover i sacrifice the gift of my love such a precious thing since what's the sense in you loving someone who doesn't love you in return? to my lover i offer my unending love so you'll give in return conceding to my every desire and need some will say love is give and take but i contend what better love is there than to always give so unselfishly so generously to the one who so thankfully and graciously accepts? see, dear lover, i am nothing without that which you bestow so for giving me all that i need i offer you all of my love and devotion in return see, dear lover, the love i give allows you to know even proclaim with aplomb what a kind caring giver you are so much better than all the other lovers who expect and demand so much in return who else, my dear lover, so graciously generously lovingly offers you such an opportunity to be so good devoting all your care and attention to the one you love absolutely? who else, my dear lover, who else but me wishes to empower you with so much of your virtue? who else, dear lover, wishes to venerate you along with the saints knowing as francis of assisi said, "for it is in giving that we receive."?
