when the aliens come
i wanna ask 'em
about bigfoot

i wanna know
if they got a bigfoot too
some kinda mythical
mystical
primitive
version
of themselves
that bounces around
brutish yet covertly
between planets

being more advanced 
than us
maybe the aliens 
will understand
better than us
what their 
and our 
bigfoots
are

then
depending on their answer
about our bigfoots
i might ask 'em 
about gods
booze
and transcendental meditation
to see
if they've found better ways
of eluding things
than we have

i'm hoping
like gods
themselves
they've found 
meaning
and ways
of acceptance
with no need
of illusion
delusion
or elusion

hopefully
if they're kind enough
if we're stupid enough
to deserve their pity
then
like some of our gods
the aliens
might be benevolent
enough
to share

living
without
illusions
delusions
and elusions
now wouldn't that
be a feat
fit
for the gods?
