Matching Sheets

let's escape 
inside 
our warm and smooth
satin sheets  
of matching 
color and pattern 

let's hide 
and caress 
and cuddle 
and coddle 
with songs and poems 
sharing 
all our fears 
our secrets 
and shames 
under our matching  
translucent 
satin sheets 

this way 
we'll have each other 
to comfort 
for knowing the world
as only we know it   
through the sheer 
of our matching
satin sheets
