Charlie’s wife is a woman. That’s why he loves her too.
He loves his wife so much he lies to her about all the other women. He loves his wife so much, he can’t stand to hurt her feelings.
Sometimes Charlie gets caught cheating, so he tells his wife how he never lies to the other women. He says he’s always a straight shooter with them when it comes to him being married and loving his wife.
He tell his wife that, for her, he’s willing to lie. He’s willing to live with the guilt of being a dirty liar for the sake of her feelings. Charlie says that’s just how much he loves her compared to all his other women who aren’t worthy of his comforting lies.
